NATIONAL EXECUTIVE OF BTEU BSNL HELD AT AGRA

The 2 Day National executive of the BTEU BSNL was held at Agra, UP East on 11th and 12th June 2022. A large number of circle secretaries and CHQ office bearers attended the meeting and deliberated on the present situation in BSNL. The CWC has resolved to take up the issues of the workers with utmost seriousness and face the ensuing verification confidently and make all out efforts to enter JCM. Sri Anupam Ji Northern zonal organising secretary of BMS and SVS Subrahmanyam, Prabhari Telecom sector also graced the CWC and guided the delegates.

CMD BSNL Shri P.K.Purwar  has stated that with the launch of 4G services by BSNL, the revenues are likely to increase by 20%. This is a good sign though belated. The Nation is awaiting for the launch of 4G by BSNL. Badly delayed for various reasons, successive Governments be it UPA or NDA have to bear the responsibility for this delay. Had BSNL got 4G alongwith the private operators, BSNL would have made history by now. Any way past is past, let us all welcome the launch and make efforts to get to the top of the charts again.

5th FEDERAL COUNCIL OF ITEF AT KANYAKUMARI

5th Federal Council of Indian Telecom Employees Federation was held at Vivekaananda Kendra, Kanyakumari on 23-24 March 2022.

152 Delegates participated in the conference. Flag hoisting was done by President ITEF Shri SVS Subrahmanyam. Later on all the delegates went in a procession to the meeting hall by raising slogans.
The conference was inaugurated by Sri S. Durai Raj ji, Zonal organising Secretary, South zone. Sri Murugesan former GS TN BMS, Smt Girija Vice President TN BMS were also present. Swamy ji Shri Satchidananda ji in-charge of the Kendra blessed the conference.
There were 3 business sessions on the 1st day wherein important issues concerning the Telecom sector were discussed. The 17th November rally of PSU workers proposed at New Delhi  issue was also discussed.
On the 2nd day a Bouddhik was conducted by Dr Srinivasa Kannan, Prantha Shakha Pramukh at 8 AM.
Sri V. Radhakrishnan All India Secretary BMS guided the delegates.
Many Resolutions were passed in the conference. There was an open session for 1 hour wherein the delegates raised several issues which were replied to by the concerned General Secretaries.
Election of office bearers was conducted by the Prabhari Shri SVS Subrahmanyam.

GS BTEU BSNL ADDRESSES OPEN SESSIONS ON 12th & 12th March

at Chennai and Bhopal

Shri R.C.Pandey, General Secretary BTEU BSNL has attended the All India conferences of AIBSNL EA at Chennai held on 12.3.22 and that of AIGTOA held at Bhopal on 13.3.22. He has addressed the open sessions in both the conferences and  spoke about the need to bring back past glory of the BSNL and to that extent all out efforts are to be made by all irrespective of cadre and affiliation. He has outlined the stops being taken by the Union in meeting the Hon’ble MOC and bringing to his notice the need for immediate action plan to make BSNL the number one telecom company again.  He has also stated that Wage revision and better HR policy are the need of the hour.

The open session at Bhopal was also addressed by the CMD BSNL. He has spoken very positively about the BSNL and the steps being taken by the Government at the highest level to ensure that the companies needs are taken care.

Pension Revision

The Bharatiya Doorsanchar Pensioners Sangh an affiliate of the BMS has taken up the issue of Pension Revision with the Hon’ble MOC on 20.01.2022 and held extensive discussions with him. The Hon’ble MOC assured the Sangh of a positive outcome. While this is so, one Hon’ble MP Smt V.Geetha Viswanath also took up the issue  with the Hon’ble MOC,. Secretary DOT, Secretary Department of Personnel and Pensions . Another group of like mined pensioners have also met the Hon’ble MP and appreciated her stand. Our CHQ President and CHQ office bearers & CS AP also met the Hon’ble MP and thanked her profusely. Shri H.V.Sovani, the  GS BDPS in the meanwhile has addressed separate letters to the Hon’ble MOC and Dr Jitender Singh , Minister of state for Personnel & Pensions requesting for an early settlement of the Pension issue by delinking the same from wage revision,  Positive out come is expected. We thank the Hon’ble MP for showing keen interest in the matter despite the fact that this is a very small issue for her. We appreciate her stand.

BTEU BSNL national office bearers meet Hon’ble MP, Kakinada

S/Shri V.V.S.Satyanarayana, President CHQ, K.Punna Rao, AGS CHQ, D.V.Prasad, CS AP, K.Mohana Krishna, DS Nellore, AP and Shri Bhaskar, DS Srikakulam, SSA in AP met Smt V.Geeta Viswanath ji, Hon’ble MP Lok Sabha from kakinada constituency of Andhra Pradesh today i.e. 22.2.2022 and thanked her on behalf of all Pensioners of BSNL for taking up the issue of Pension Revision with the Hon’ble MOC and Secretaries to the Govt of India. The delegation also discussed several issues confronting the BSNL viz., Launch of 4G, optimisation of the net work and improvement of other services in the rural and urban areas. The Hon’ble MP sat through for more than an hour and assured to take up the issues with the Government.

PENDING HR ISSUES OF BSNL NON EXECUTIVES

The BSNL Corporate office has been making the lives of non executive employees miserable on one count or the other.  The arrears of the IDA which were with held due to Covid are yet to be refunded to the employees despite issue of orders by the management.

The promotional avenues of the non executives are blocked for the past many years. The Departmental examinations for promotion to JAO, JTO, JE, TT cadres are held up since  2019., Notifications issued earlier are cancelled and no fresh dates are given.

The Non executive employees have no other go but to agitate for these things. The CHQ  is analysing the situation and appropriate trade union action will be taken after due consultation with all shortly.

The 150th Meeting of the BMS National Executive is being held virtually from 12th to 13 th February. Many important decisions are expected to be taken in the meeting concerning all sectors both organised and unorganised. The meeting was originally scheduled to be held at Bhubaneswar but is being held virtually in view of the COID19 pandemic.
