We heartily congratulate Sri V. Chandrasekharan Asssistant Circle Secretary, BTEU BSNL TN Circle and Sri V.Ashok Kumar senior member of the union for getting Gold medals in the recently concluded All India BSNL Body Building competition held at Tiruvananthapuram Kerala.
The Department of Personnel has issues guidelines to enable employees recruited prior to 1.4.2004 and who are covered under the New pension scheme to opt for the old pension scheme since their appointment etc was delayed due to administrative exigencies. In BSNL also there are several employees who were either recruited under CGA, Regularised from TSM and some were recruited directly prior to formation of BSNL were taken to duty after 1.10.2000 due to administrative delays. The CHQ has since taken up this case with the DOT to see that such category of officials are also given an option to opt for the old pension scheme. For details see link Issues Taken Up.
We heartily congratulate Shri Virender Yadav Ji, our dynamic Circle Secretary of Northern Telecom Region has won a Gold Medal in the recently concluded 19th All India BSNL Athletics Meet for the year 2022-2023. Shri Yadav Ji participated in the 3000 Mtrs Steeplechase event. The Bharatiya Telecom Employees Union BSNL conveys its appreciation to Shri Virender Yadav Ji and encourages him to achieve more success in the days to come.

S/Shri VVS Satyanarayana, President, R.C.Pandey GS and Ajay Singh AGS met Director HR BSNL on 28.2.2023 and brought to his notice about the difficulties being faced by the employees as no empaneled hospitals are available in the Circle and BA head quarters and also in the Operational Areas. The patients are finding it very difficult to get treatment and often fatalities are taking place. The Director HR has assured the CHQ that the corporate office is aware of this issue and necessary instructions will be issued to the Circles to do the needful and every effort will be made to ensure that Private hospitals are empaneled in the Circle and BA head quarters immediately. The CHQ team also met the Pr General Managers Establishment and Recruitment and discussed about the issue of Presidential orders for left out officials and also about the Training schedule for the JE cadre. They were informed that the training schedule is being prepared and may commence in April / May 2023. The PGM establishment also assured that the Presidential orders issue is being attended to on priority basis.
As notified earlier the CMD BSNL has convened a meeting with all Unions and Associations on the issue of BSNL, MTNL merger and also on developmental issues of BSNL. The following represented the CHQ. S/Shri VVS. Satyanarayana, President, R.C.Pandey, GS, Ajay Singh AGS. At the very out set, the CMD BSNL has stated that financial position of the company has improved but not to the extent it should have been and praised the work force for this. He dwelt about the 4G saturation works and its implementation etc, indigenous technology usage and targets were also explained. Our President / GS explained about battery & power plant issues which are to be attended to on priority basis as the customer base depends on these two vital issues i.e. the net work gets affected if there is no proper battery back up to the BTS sites. The CHQ has also brought to their notice about the unnecessary pressure being mounted on the non executives in the name of SIM selling. The CMD stated that Purchase order for procurement of 20000 battery sets at a cost of Rs. 30,6000 crores has been issued and the entire order is expected to be delivered by December 23 in a phased manner. The CMD then dwelt on the issue of Merger of MTNL and BSNL and stated that the Govt of India wants this merger to take place immediately and none can stop this and asked the unions and associations to spelt out their views on this in writing within a short time.
The CHQ has asked the CMD BSNL to ensure that the 3rd PRC is implemented within 3 months as the management can do this if it can and then only proceed towards merger of the two CPSUs. Without 3rd PRC merger is meaning less the CHQ told the CMD BSNL. The meeting lasted for about 3 hours.
THE ISSUE OF MERGER OF MTNL INTO BSNL HAS AGAIN GAINED FRESH TRACTION. AS PART OF THE REVIAL PACKAGE ANNOUNCED IN 2019 MTNL WAS TO BE MERGED INTO BSNL BY NOW, BUT THE ISSUE GOT DELAYED ON ONE COUNT OR THE OTHER. AGAIN FRESH EFFORTS ARE BEING MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT AND THE MANATGEMENTS. AS PART OF THIS THE MANAGEMENT OF BSNL AND MTNL ARE ENGAGING THE UNIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS. A MEETING WITH MTNL STAKE HOLDERS I.E. UNIONS AND ASSOCIATION WAS HELD ON 21.2.23. PROPOSALS MADE BY THE MANAGEMENT ARE AS UNDER

Director HR BSNL CO ND has addressed a DO letter regarding Online attendance system. He has cautioned the employees to be honest and not resort to fradulent means of marking attendance through proxy as such an act can be traced and will entail disciplinary action. For details see link Circulars.,
