General Secretary, BTEU BSNL Shri R.C.Pandey is on a tour of Himachal Pradesh since 3 days. He has extensively held meetings in Shimla, Hamirpur, Kangra, Dharamshala and Una. Delegation of S/Shri A.K.Tiwari, Chairman TOA, RC Pandey GS BTEU, Raj Kumar Upadhyay GS TOA met Shri PK Purwaar ji CMD BSNL on 14.09.2022. Mr. Tiwari Ji thanked the GoI and BSNL Management for the revival package approved for BSNL. Shri RC Pandey ji raised the issue of intimidation of employees working in the field in the name of voluntary retirement scheme by some organizations. When asked by Mr. RK Upadhyay ji about the shortage of battery sets, optical fiber cable and transmission equipment, CMD BSNL said that there will be no shortage of batteries in the near future. The contract for purchase of battery worth Rs 100 Crore has been awarded and the contract worth Rs 300 crore will be approved within 10 days. Similarly, the process of buying 25000 KM optical fiber cable and transmission equipment (CPAN, MPLS Router, OTN etc.) worth Rs 700 crore has started. When Shri RC Pandey ji asked about the condition that only indigenous 4G Mobile Equipment can be purchased, Shri Praveen Kumar Purwar ji said that it would be helpful in the progress of the nation and there would be no security issue. He told that the issue related to liability of Rs 33000 crores against spectrum charges and GST charges could be resolved through the revival package. According to him, the Mobile equipment to be purchased for 4G network will be 5G ready, so it will not take much time for BSNL to provide 5G services. Shri RK Upadhyay raised the concern about work allotted to BSNL in less profitable rural areas, CMD BSNL said that 5 lakh kilometer optical fiber worth Rs. 25000 Crores has been put under the control of BSNL, which will make it easier for BSNL to provide services in rural areas. Apart from this, projects worth Rs 50000 crores have been awarded to BSNL by the Govt and many more will follow. According to him, all the dues of contractors have been paid. It will improve the image of BSNL and will be helpful in getting the work done in future. When Shri RC Pandey ji asked about the possibility of pay and pension revision, CMD BSNL said with displeasure that BSNL management had proposed pay revision with 5% fitment but you guys (recognized unions) ) did not accept and now the financial position is not good; Yes, the process of pension revision is going on. He urged the delegation that all the members of the BSNL family should work together so that the financial situation improves and the dream of pay revision can be realized..

The BSNL Corporate office has notified the conduct of one special JTO LICE for 445 vacancies for the year 2021. These vacancies are diverted from the DR Quota. The examination will be held on 18.12.2022. However, the CHQ is committed to press the management to hold examinations for the vacancy years 2018, 2019 and 2020 which were ururped by the management in the name of restructuring. A meeting of the Circle Secrtaries and CHQ Office bearers was held at New Delhi on 12th and 13th to discuss about the campaign strategy ad other issues in connection with the membership verification. A mega meeting of the staff in NTR New Delhi was held on 13th. The meeting was addressed by Shri Zile Singh, GS staff union, Sri R.K.Upadhyay, GS TOA BSNL, Sri R.C.Pandey, GS BTEU BSNL, RS Yadav, Org Secretary, ITEF etc.
